The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) has invested $25 million in Tata Capital Growth Fund which is managed out of Singapore.

This is JBIC's first investment in a private equity fund focused on India.

The Tata Capital Growth Fund is a private equity fund investing principally in Indian growth companies. This fund is being managed by Tata Capital's Singapore subsidiary and Mizhuo Securities of Japan. It is also expected that this fund will support Japanese business development in India.

JBIC has a policy of actively supporting funds in which Japanese firms perform a major role in management and investment decisions.
