Silver prices fell 0.23 per cent to Rs 45,475 per kg at the futures trade today, taking weak cues from the global market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May fell Rs 103 or 0.23 per cent to Rs 45,475 per kg in a business turnover of 42 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in March declined by Rs 79 or 0.18 per cent to Rs 44,466 per kg in a business volume of 1,458 lots.
Market analysts said a subdued trend in precious metals in the global market on speculation that the Federal Reserve will continue reducing the monetary stimulus in the US, led to the fall in silver prices at the futures trade here.
In the international market, silver traded a shade lower at $20.10 an ounce in Singapore.
