The spot pepper market stayed steady on Tuesday on matching demand and supply. Selling pressure continued in Karnataka. Leading exporters, semi-processors and primary market dealers engaged in processing low bulk density farm grade pepper into semi-processed pepper for the exporters were all actively covering. On the terminal market, 120 tonnes of pepper were traded. Good chunk of the material has come from the Kudagu region of Karnataka, market sources told BusinessLine . Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹61,000 (ungarbled) and ₹64,000 (garbled) a quintal. Active contracts on the single commodity exchange IPSTA also remained steady at previous levels of ₹65,500 for each contract. Indian export prices were at $10,400 a tonne cf for Europe and $10,650 a tonne cf for the US.
