Tea prices in the various auction centres in the country increased by 4.07 per cent till November compared to the prices in the same period in 2017.
The prices rose to an average of ₹138.20 a kg in the 11 months from ₹132.79 during Jan-Nov 2017. The increase of ₹5.41 marked a gain of 4.07 per cent. The increase is more in the North Indian auctions, where the average price rose to ₹149.96 a kg from ₹143.96. The increase of ₹6 a kg marked a gain of 4.17 per cent.
In the South Indian auctions, average prices rose to ₹100.68 a kg from ₹ 96.93 in Jan-Nov 2017.
The increase of ₹3.75 a kg marked a gain of 3.87 per cent.
