Gold futures opened higher at Rs 29,918 per 10 grams against the previous close of Rs 29,903 following firm trend in the international markets.
In Comex, the yellow metal traded higher by $4 at $1,607 troy ounce.
Rupee has shown an appreciating trend against dollar since morning. This may hinder the gold price gains in India.
MCX gold October contract may trade between Rs 29,867 and Rs 29,954 per 10 grams on Monday.
