Mr S.V. Murlidhar Rao has been appointed as Executive Director with SEBI. His portfolio, however, will be announced later. The appointment of Mr Rao as ED comes after the vacancy created by the exit of Ms Usha Narayanan. Ms Narayanan demitted office last month as the Executive Director in-charge of Corporation Finance Department.
Mr Murlidhar Rao was, prior to this, Chief General Manager of the Market Regulation Department in SEBI.
