Alstom T&D India has bagged an order worth ₹108 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India to supply and install 10 transformers of 765 kV at two locations. Alstom will install a 765 kV, 500 mega volt ampere transformer at the air-insulated substation at Vindhyachal in Uttar Pradesh for transmitting surplus power from the northern grid to the southern region. Another transformer will be installed at the gas-insulated substation at Vemagiri in Andhra Pradesh to strengthen the southern grid. All major equipment will be supplied by Alstom T&D India’s manufacturing facility at Vadodara, the company said. Shares of Alstom T&D ended a tad higher at ₹528.15 on the NSE.
