The board of Idea Cellular will meet on Thursday to consider a fund-raising proposal. The board may consider a preferential allotment, qualified institutional placement, rights issue or such other route in the best interests of the company. Shareholders will keep an eye on the quantum and mode of issue. The telecom major, which is in the final stage of getting approvals on its merger with Vodafone India, is betting big on its expansion plans and its 4G coverage.
