Vedanta spiked up in the afternoon session to lead the pack on the BSE near the close on Friday. At 2.50 pm the share was trading at Rs 146.30, up 1.81 per cent on its previous close at Rs 143.70.
BHEL edged up further to hold gains of 1.73 per cent at Rs 284.60 against Rs 279.75 at close on Thursday.
M&M rode up 1.54 per cent to trade at Rs 1,295.70 against Rs 1,276.05 at close yesterday.
Infosys gained 1.42 to quote at Rs 1,001.80 against Rs 987.80 at close overnight.
Tata Motors advanced 1.37 per cent at Rs 400.50 against Rs 395.10 at close last evening.
