Shares of Amara Raja Batteries will remain in focus as the company is scheduled to post its September quarter number on Tuesday. Analysts expect the Hyderabad-based firm to report a flat to marginal drop in net profit (compared to the year-ago period) due to depreciation costs. However, analysts feel sales may grow 15-20 per cent. Sequentially, the battery maker’s net profit is seen down 8-15 per cent and net sales 6-10 per cent. For Q1 of the current fiscal, it reported a net profit of ₹105 crore.
Price, open interest jump for Havells India
Shares of Havells India will remain in focus on Tuesday, as open interest positions of Havells India futures jumped 16.7 per cent (or 6.33 lakh shares) to 44.15 lakh shares. The stock has been on the rise ever since it announced September quarter result on October 22. Since then, the stock has gained 13 per cent. However, today's gains caught many traders off guard, who were force to cover their short positions. Traders see the momentum continuing another couple of days.
Policy to keep mining stocks in focus
Shares of mining majors such as JSW Steel, Tata Steel, SAIL and Bhushan Steel are likely to see attention, as an inter-ministerial panel may meet on Tuesday to discuss the methodology for fixing reserve price for auction of coal blocks. According to reports, the panel, comprising secretaries of various Ministries, including finance, power and steel, law, mines and petroleum will decide on the reserve price for allotting coal blocks, the allocation of which were cancelled by the Supreme Court recently.
