Bank of Maharashtra will launch a special campaign from January 19 to February 7 to extend credit to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
The bank aims to extend advances of at least Rs 1,000 crore on an all-India basis to MSMEs during this special campaign period, according to C K Verma, Zonal Manager, Delhi Zone, Bank of Maharashtra.
For the Delhi Zone, the aim is to extend advances of over Rs 100 crore during this campaign period, Verma told BusinessLine.
This public sector lender sees ample opportubities in MSME lending as the yield on such advances is higher than corporate advances.
Bank of Maharashtra had recently cut its base rate — the minimum rate below which a bank cannot lend — from 10.4 per cent to 10.25 per cent.
