Cholamandalam MS Risk Services, part of the Murugappa Group, and the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organisations (CAHO), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide a certification programme on fire safety and emergency preparedness to healthcare organisations in India.

The programme is expected to reach around 40,000 hospitals in India in the next 18 months, according to a statement.

It aims to address the gap that hospitals face today in the areas of fire prevention, protection and preparedness. Critical concepts will be taught through the use of simulations and innovative use of virtual reality technology.
