The Dharwad-headquartered Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVGB), which has launched a loan product exclusively for women on March 8, 2018, has received an overwhelming response to the product, according to S Ravindran, Chairman of the bank. Quoting Ravindran, a press release said here that ‘Vikas She Plus’, a product exclusively for women to take up new ventures, expanding/modifying the existing enterprises that provides loan up to a maximum of ₹2 lakh, was launched on International Women’s Day last year. The bank disbursed nearly ₹83 crore to nearly 7,900 women beneficiaries in the last one year, the release said.
