India reported 30,948 new cases on Sunday, with 403 deaths in the last 24 hours till 8 am, as per the Health Ministry data. The cases are lower than the previous day’s cases of 34,457. Cumulatively, the country recorded 3,24,24,234 infections, of which the total active load was 3,53,398, and the death toll stood at 4,34,367. It is to be noted that in the last 24 hours, 38,487 cases recovered, aggregating to total recoveries of 3,16,36,469.
Also, the weekly positivity rate remained below 3 per cent, currently at 2 per cent for the last 58 days, and the daily positivity rate stood at 1.95 per cent, less than 3 per cent for the previous 27 days. In addition, India conducted 15,85,681 tests during the previous day, with the total tests of 50.62 crore done so far.
In addition, India administered 7.35 lakh vaccine doses on Sunday till 8 pm, with 58.21 crore shots administered so far, as per the CoWIN Dashboard.
