TechTop, a technical project competition for engineering colleges, has announced its eighth edition from August 1 to 3 this year at Technopark.
Entries have been invited from engineering colleges across the country for students to participate and showcase their innovative ideas and projects.

Last date for sending in applications is March 31, 2013, a spokesman for organisers said here. TechTop is organised by Degree Controls Inc. and Technopark technology business incubator (TBI) and offers prize money of Rs 1 lakh for the best innovation.
This year TechTop Charitable Trust has also announced a TechTop public innovation contest for the public irrespective of age and qualification and a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, said Rajesh Nair, fonder, Degree Controls.
Participants can be from schools or industry, villages, towns or cities and could be farmers or workers, young or old.
The objective is to give anyone who has great ideas and a mind for entrepreneurship a platform to demonstrate their talent, Nair added.
TechTop provides a path to identify eligible talent for incubation support and help innovative ideas to be converted into successful commercial ventures, said K. C. Chandrasekharan Nair, managing director, Technopark TBI.
TBI incubated firms such as Artin Dynamics and Zyrus Technologies were identified from TechTop. There are many more that are being incubated.
