Professor Pulak Ghosh from the Quantitative Management Information Systems (QMIS) area at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has been selected as one of the two joint winners to be awarded the National Biennial award 2015 for outstanding contribution to the field of statistics to Indians below 45 years.
Accorded by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Govt of India, the National Biennial award is the ‘Award for outstanding and meritorious research work in statistics’ in the honour of Prof C R Rao. The award is given to eminent people for their outstanding contributions made towards the development of official and applied statistics.
Professor Pulak Ghosh will receive the award at a special function organised at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on June 29. At the award ceremony, he will deliver a keynote address among the dignitaries, subject-matter experts and eminent personalities.
