The Embassy of Poland and the Polish Institute in New Delhi have jointly set up a Centre for Polish and Central European Studies at the University of Calcutta.
According to a statement, this is the second such institute in India after the one in Manipal University.
Both the centres have been organised in partnership with the University of Warsaw and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, the statement added.
Piotr Kłodkowski, Ambassador of Poland to India, on Thursday signed a letter of intent on establishment of the institute of Foreign Policy Studies, University of Calcutta (Alipore Campus), with Suranjan Das, Vice-Chancellor, University of Calcutta.
