Gurgaon is gearing up to observe its first car-free today, also observed as World Car Free Day. According to the car-free model, the city police will ban the four-wheelers from 7 am to 7 pm at heavy traffic zones in Millennium City.

European Union interior ministers will today hold a meeting to tackle the migration crisis, after they failed to reach a deal on relocating thousands of refugees last week. Luxembourg, the president of the EU, said the aim of the meeting was to approve plans for the redistribution of 1,20,000 refugees in Greece, Italy and Hungary.

A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court will today rule on pleas pertaining to 1,200 employees who were retrenched by the power distribution companies of Telangana. These employees, who were then sent to AP, approached the Court and obtained an interim stay. As AP did not take them in, they have remained jobless for the last four months.

The first ministerial of the India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue (S&CD) will be held in Washington today during which both sides will identify areas for future cooperation in the defence, security and energy sectors. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will lead the inter-ministry delegation to the S&CD.
