The deadline for all Central government employees to file details of their assets and liabilities as required under the Lokpal Act, is today. Details of deposits in foreign bank accounts, expensive paintings, antiques, furniture, electronic equipment, movable assets, insurance, bonds, shares and mutual funds, among others, are to be declared.

Suzuki Motorcycle India is to launch its 2016 Gixxer today. The model, first unveiled at the auto expo in February, features a rear disc brake. The motorcycle will be available in green and black dual tone colours in addition to the existing colour options.

The second phase of the ‘odd-even’ rule is back in Delhi from today. The rule, under which odd and even numbered cars will be permitted to run on alternate days, will be applicable till April 30. The Delhi government believes that restricting the number of cars running on the roads can lead to a reduction of pollution levels.

A 47-day annual ban on fishing will come into force from today. K Natesa Pillai, assistant director of fisheries, said that mechanised boats would not be permitted to venture into sea during this period.

The Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh is to launch a drive to check wastage of potable water supplied to city residents between 5.30 am and 9 am, from today. Some 16 teams will challan people misusing potable water, with a fine of ₹2,000. The drive will continue till June 30.
