Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry has asked the University Grants Commission (UGC) to revisit the guidelines on semester examination and the academic calendar.
“I have advised the UGC to revisit the guidelines issued earlier for intermediate and terminal semester examinations and academic calendar. The foundation for revisited guidelines shall be health and safety students, teachers and staff,” tweeted Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Minister of HRD.
The guidelines that were issued in April recommended that intermediate semester students be graded based on an internal assessment of the present and previous semester.
While, in the States where Covid-19 situation has normalised, the exams for intermediate and terminal semester students can be conducted in July.
The guidelines further mentioned that the academic session 2020-21 may commence from August 1 for old students and from September 1 for fresh students.
Meanwhile, Supreme Court on Thursday will hear a petition filed by a group of parents seeking quashing of CBSE notification for conducting the remaining Class XII board examination from July.
