Ending weeks of ordeal in the strife torn Iraq, seventy-six persons from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have landed in the Shamshabad airport on Saturday evening.
As many as 40 persons belong to Karimnagar district, followed by nine from Adilabad, two from Nizamabad and one from Medak. The remaining 24 persons hail from the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
The special flight from Erbil in Iraq landed at 2.30 p.m. at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport after making stopovers at Mumbai and Kochi.
The two State governments set up emergency cells and asked district collectors to collect information about the people working in Iraq.
