Nilgiri tea major the Darmona group based at Aravenu village, some 25 kilometres from Coonoor, which holds records for consistent high prices in auctions for teas manufactured in its ISO-certified factory, is diversifying into dental care service.

“Researchers in various countries have proved that tea is good for the teeth. As tea has large amount of easily absorbable fluoride, it reduces tooth decay. Polyphenols in tea reduces bacteria’s ability to damage teeth. Tea inhibits the growth of harmful micro-organisms in oral cavity which prevents root canal infections,” Darmona’s Managing Partner T.N. Raju told Business Line .

“Hence, we are extending our services from the tea house to oral health with a passion to provide preventive dental care. Our experts will guide people on oral hygiene to ensure that no untoward dental conditions develop,” Darmona’s Orthodontist Surgeon Dr Jagdeep Raju disclosed.

“Besides counselling, we will provide specialist treatment for dental ailments at our Coimbatore centre where the next generation panoramic imager and multifunctional workstation integrating specialist instruments, exclusive technology and contemporary sterilisation concepts have been installed. Deserving poor can get free treatment,” Dr Jagdeep Raju said.
