A major fire broke out in a four-storey building in the Burrabazar area in Kolkata on Saturday night. According to the state Fire and Emergency Services Department, the fire broke out on the second floor of the building that houses a textile godown and offices.
However, no casualties were reported. Fifteen fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the blaze. The building was evacuated immediately. Fire fighters found it difficult to do their operations since the building was located on a congested road, the fire department informed.
The reason behind the fire was unknown.
