A decision on subsidising cooking gas for all consumers, including families above the poverty line, will be taken after the liaison committee of the ruling United Democratic Front (UDF) discusses it.
The committee will meet on October 17, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy announced here after a special meeting of the Cabinet.
The Cabinet had decided on a subsidy for supplies to more than 100 hostels for tribal students and 18 model residential schools.
They would get the same number of gas cylinders as in the last year at subsidised rates. The Cabinet has sanctioned Rs 75 lakh for the subsidy.
