A fair price medicine shop was inaugurated at the campus of the JNM Hospital, Kalyani in Nadia district today.

Patients will get 142 numbers of generic medicines in the shop at a rate of 50 to 60 per cent less than that in open markets.

This is the third such shop in the district after the ones in Krishnagar Sadar and Shaktinagar Hospitals.

Inaugurating the medicine shop, Technical Education and Training Minister Ujjal Biswas said “We all have to remain active to help the government in running the fair price medical shops as some people do not like it.”

Public Health Engineering Minister Pundarikakshya Saha, who was also present on the occasion, said patients would no longer required to go to South India in future as healthcare facilities were getting developed rapidly in the state.
