Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his deep grief and condolences over the tragic demise of Malli Mastan Babu, one of the top mountaineers in the country.

“My tributes to Mountaineer Mastan Babu. I stand by his family members in this hour of grief. He made us proud by following his passion,” the Chief Minister said in a statement.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that the Government has called for a special team to search for Mastan Babu after he went missing on March 24.

Malli Mastan Babu, hailing from Nellore district, was regarded as the fastest ‘Seven Summiteers’ in the world. He held the record of the fastest mountaineer to climb summits in all seven continents.

The record holder went on an expedition to climb up the high mountains between Argentina and Chile, during which he went missing.

Hailing from a family of farmers, he had earlier worked as a software engineer before taking up his passion for mountaineering.
