Following fast-paced developments in the cash-for-vote scam and the growing debate on implementation of Section 8 of the AP Re-Organisation Act, ESL Narasimhan, Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, has been called for a meeting by the Union Home Ministry.
According to sources, he has reached Delhi today and is expected to meet the Rajnath Singh and other Ministry officials on Friday.
The invite for the Governor to Delhi assumes importance in the backdrop of growing concern over the developments in the cash-for-vote scam, which could potentially lead to issue of notices to AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and some MPs.
The meeting comes in the backdrop of AP demand for implementation of Section 8 of the Act, which provides for handling the law and order in Hyderabad, the common capital of both the States for 10 years.
Revanth Reddy case Meanwhile, the bail petition of A Revanth Reddy, Telangana Telugu Desam MLA accused in the cash-for-vote scam, will come up for further hearing on Friday. The Court had adjourned it two days ago as the Anti-Corruption Bureau sought time to file additional counter in the case.
In a related development, the Election Commission has filed a memo asking for copies of the progress made in the case so far.
