The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a petition made by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau challenging the bail granted to Telangana TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy and two others in the cash-for-vote scam.
The ACB had filed a special leave petition on Thursday in the apex court challenging the bail granted to Reddy, Harry Sebastain and Rudra Udaysimha by the High Court of Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Reddy is the main accused in the cash-for-vote scam and was arrested by sleuths of ACB on May 31 while he was caught seeking to bribe Elvis Stephenson, Nominated member, to garner his support to Vem Narendar Reddy, a TDP-backed candidate, during the elections to the Legislative Council.
The ACB contention is that Reddy sought to bribe Stephenson Rs 5 crore and initial payment of Rs 50 lakh was being made when the trap was laid.
