The Pharma & Life Sciences Committee of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) plans to host a day-long conference titled “Pillars of Protection—Forging a Safer Future for Pharma and Chemical Manufacturing” on June 25 in Hyderabad.

Key focus areas of the conference cover the Best practices in EHS and operational safety; Regulatory updates and compliance frameworks, Risk management, hazard control, and incident prevention, and Case studies on innovation and safe manufacturing systems, according to a release.

With an aim to double the state’s life sciences ecosystem, the committee’s focus is on five pillars- namely, Operational Excellence, Technology Adoption, Sustainability and ESG, MSME and Startup Development, and Policy Advocacy. Under these pillars, initiatives include lean manufacturing workshops, tech pilots, ESG certification, MSME mentorship, and policy support, the release said.

“Telangana is at the forefront of India’s pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing growth. As the sector scales new heights, we must also raise the bar on safety and regulatory discipline. This conference is a timely initiative to bring together all key voices and build a culture where safety is embedded into every layer of industrial operations,” R. Sivaprasad Reddy, Chairman, CII Telangana, stated.
