The demand for construction materials, interior decor and aesthetic products, furnishings and modular kitchens is rising, according to leading players in the realty space.

Industry representatives were addressing the three-day CAI Expo 2017, which began at Codissia Trade Fair Complex here today.

The Construction, Architecture Interior (CAI) exhibition was inaugurated by Vanitha Mohan, President, Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, in the presence of Rajesh B Lund, President of Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (Credai), Coimbatore; Ravichandran, Managing Director, Marwell Enncon Tech, and Raghuvir Srinivasan, Senior Associate Editor, BusinessLine .

Growing demand

Vanitha Mohan pointed out that there was a growing need for building materials both in new and old constructions. Also, interest in interior and aesthetic home products is on the rise.

Rajesh Lund said demand for furniture and modular kitchen was increasing and there were modular kitchens priced up to ₹1 crore in the market. “Given the growing aspirations in the building material and interiors areas, there is a scope to ensure participation from more categories,” he said. CAI 2017 has been organised to offer a platform to provide access to developers, building material and component makers, interior design professionals, architects and planners, and lighting consultants, among others.

Wide collection

The event showcases a collection of modern technologies, services and materials from different segments. More than 60 companies across varied fields and from different parts of the country are participating in the event. “We have been participating in this to generate leads for our products. This is the first time we have come to Coimbatore. We are showcasing water-proof plywood for kitchen applications. CAI 2017 is being organised by BusinessLine in association with iAds & Events. The business-to-business event is open from 10-30 am to 7 pm and entry is free.
