A day after a nephew of APJ Abdul Kalam resigned from the BJP, the late President’s grand-nephew APJMJ Sheik Saleem said he continued to be a loyal worker of the party. “I have informed the offices of BJP President Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the news has been wrongly attributed”, he said.
Saleem joined BJP on September 28 this year, while APJ Syed Haja Ibrahim, Kalam’s nephew who joined BJP in 2012, had on Monday resigned as Vice-President of the party’s minority wing in Tamil Nadu and from the party’s primary membership protesting the Centre’s ‘failure’ to convert the former President’s residence into a knowledge centre.
