Power generation in Srisailam power project has been stalled from Sunday morning adding to power supply concerns in the State.
With the striking employees not reporting for work, power generation in 770 MW right bank power house has been stalled.
Already the State is short by nearly 2,000 MW with no power generation at Vijayawada thermal power station and Rayalaseema thermal power project as striking workers stayed away from work.
The strike by Seemandhra staff against the moves for formation of separate Telangana state has adversely impacted power supply situation in several parts of the State, particularly districts in Seemandhra region.
According to sources, if this situation continues, this has potential to impact the southern grid and also other states in the region as there is likely to be huge pressure on the grid.
The power shortage is also likely to impact railway traction.
The Srisailam right bank project comes under the Kurnool district in Seemandhra, where there is no power generation now. However, the left bank 900 MW unit is in Telangana where a section of staff from other regions did not report for work.
