The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has done business worth over Rs 4,760 crore during FY-15. This, incidentally, is one of the all-time high businesses that Nabard has done here in West Bengal.

According to release, it has facilitated bank finance thereby augmenting “capital formation in agriculture”. This has resulted in Rs 1,763 crore as refinancing towards crop loans and Rs 981.24 crore as refinance towards capital formation in agriculture.

This apart, another Rs 1,434 crore has been provided towards the creation of infrastructure that include making bridges, laying roads and so on. Around, Rs 286 crore has been spent towards warehousing projects and setting up cold storages.

Nabard during the year has also facilitated the loan against warehousing receipts (NWR) and supported the procurement of agri-produce. Marketing federations have been provided with Rs 150 crore support, it said in a release.
