Smart cards are the best option for those withdrawing old age pension (OAP) and other benefits issued by the State Government, according to Mr Ansul Mishra, District Collector, Madurai.
Distributing 163 smart cards in association with Indian Bank at Kambur Panchayat near Kottampatti on Tuesday, he said that they were user-friendly and safe in many aspects. Beneficiaries could withdraw money as and when required through business correspondents appointed by the bank.
Mr Parthasarathi, Deputy General Manager, Indian Bank, Madurai Region, was present.
