Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has said that farmers would get power supply for nine hours from March 2016.
"The State will have 7,000 MW of power at its disposal from March 2016 as against 4,320 MW now. Farmers are going to be the immediate beneficiaries. They will get power for nine hours in the day time," the Chief Minister said.
He reviewed the power situation and various power projects here on Wednesday with Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma, Genco (power generation company) and other officials.
The Chief Minister has named the upcoming thermal power station at Damaracharla in Nalgonda district as Yadadri Thermal Station, a Government statement said. "We are going to get 150 MW from NTPC, 810 MW from Gayatri Power, 600 MW from Bhoopalapalli KTPC and another 1,200 MW from Singareni Jaipur (Adilabad district). The overall availability would go up to 7,000 MW in one year," the Chief Minister said.
