The Directorate of Income-tax (Intelligence and Criminal Investigation), Bengaluru held a workshop for the officers of Inspector General, Stamps and Registration (Sub-Registrar Officers and Registrars).
R Ravichandran, Director of Income tax (Intelligence and Criminal Investigation), Bengaluru, emphasised the role of Sub-Registrars in providing the correct information on such transactions and also the consequences of penal and prosecution penalties for non-filing of Annual Information Return/Statement of financial transactions.
The workshop was inaugurated by Nutan Wodeyar, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income-Tax, Karnataka & Goa Region, Bengaluru.
Wodeyar emphasised the need to file timely and accurate Annual Information Return (AIR)/Statement of Financial Transactions (SFT) in accordance with section 285BA of the Income-tax Act, 1961 and mentioned that a recent amendment in the Income-tax Rules has been made which has come into force from April 1, 2016.
