Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa is going to the Prime Minister with a wish list for opening more sectors to revive the State’s economy.
“I will appeal to the Prime Minister for more relaxations,” Yediyurappa told reporters after performing puja at Shankar Mutt in Bengaluru.
Karnataka is keen and has been demanding relaxation to open more economic activities like bars and restaurants, gyms, swimming pools and cinemas.
He said the maximum number of positive cases were due to people coming from other States and their primary contacts.
“Lockdown is not required for Karnataka, we will request for more relaxations.”
On Tuesday, the state reported 317 new cases taking the total tally to 7,530. On the discharge front the day saw 322 cases, now total discharges stood at 4,456.
Of the 317 new cases reported in the State, 108 cases were with inter-state travel history to Maharastra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and 78 were international passengers.
