A three-member team of retired judges will probe allegations made against members of India Against Corruption (IAC).
The Ombudsmen are Justice A.P Shah, former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, Justice B.H. Marlapalle, retired judge, Bombay High Court and Justice Jaspal Singh, retired judge, Delhi High Court, according to an IAC release issued on Friday.
Recently, allegations have been made against some IAC members, such as Anjali Damania, Prashant Bhushan and Mayank Gandhi.
“We are referring these cases to this Ombudsmen,” the IAC said, and added that the Ombudsmen would be requested to expeditiously inquire into these charges and give their report as early as possible and within three months.
Arvind Kejriwal-led IAC, which is all set to launch a political outfit and fight elections, said after the probe, “if any member is found guilty of any illegal or immoral activity, he/she would be expected to resign from the proposed party.”
The Ombudsmen would be requested to examine in-depth the allegations and material against IAC members, their defence and give a report on whether the allegations show any illegal or immoral act being committed by IAC members, the release said.
