Unidentified persons hurled petrol bombs at two post offices in the city late last night, causing damage to the property.
According to police, no one was injured in the incident.
Petrol bombs were hurled at Mylapore and Mandaveli post offices and some persons have been detained for questioning, they said without divulging further details.
According to fire and rescue services department, the fire had been doused.
