After a successful FIFA football season in Kerala, Sony India is looking to cash in on the Onam festival season with a premium product line-up, festive offers etc.
The just concluded FIFA football season helped the company register a 100 per cent growth in 32-inch and above category TV sets. “We hope that a similar trend will prevail during Onam,” Sunil Nayyar, Managing Director, told reporters here.
TV sales
Targeting a 35 percent growth in Bravia TV sales during Onam, he said the company plans to achieve a business of ₹170 crore during July-September period through the promotional activities with actress Manju Warrier.
The company is bullish on the Kerala market as the State leads the show in all the product categories across the country. Customers’ shift to large TV screens have led to the growth in TV sales in Kerala.
West Bengal also contributed a major share in business during the FIFA Cup Season, he said.
Promo offers
According to Satish Padmanabhan, Sales Head, the company is committed to make Sony a premium brand across all product categories.
The company has announced consumer promotion offers, special finance offers, and EMI options this festival season. The company is also doing well in digital imaging with a 54 per cent growth, he said.
