As the seventh edition of the India Premier League kicked off on Wednesday, teams and sponsors have gone into a tizzy to finalise sponsorship deals.

SpiceJet on Thursday said it would continue its association with SunRisers Hyderabad as principal sponsor and official airlines. The company said that throughout the duration of the tournament, Spicejet will offer free passes for the SunRisers home games in India, and merchandise to fans, as prizes through various contests that will be held during the tournament.

Meanwhile, RBL Bank said that it had tied up with Delhi Daredevils as its principal sponsor and banking partner. RBL brand will be seen on the Delhi Daredevils jersey.

In a statement, RBL Bank Managing Director & CEO, Vishwavir Ahuja, said: “Delhi Daredevils is a great team and this opportunity presents us with a fantastic platform to present our new bank brand to the audience. The Delhi team was a natural fit because of our growing presence in the NCR.”

Also, Tata Prima has signed up as the title sponsors of Kings XI Punjab for the seventh edition of the IPL. In a statement, Ravi Pisharody, Executive Director, Commercial Vehicles, Tata Motors said: “Cricket is as pervasive and inherently connected to the Indian psyche as our trucks are a part of the country’s DNA. We, at Tata Motors, are delighted to be a part of the Indian Premier League – that continues to remain one of the most exhilarating cricket tournaments – through the partnership with Kings XI Punjab team.”
