Press Trust of India FMCG major Cargill India on Wednesday announced it will be a principal sponsor of GMR Group-owned IPL cricket team Delhi Daredevils, for the 2018 season.

Cargill India will promote its NatureFresh brand under the association. The company sells edible oils and wheat flour under the brand.

Two-wheeler major Suzuki Motorcycle India under its brand Suzuki Gixxer’, too, has tied up with the Delhi Daredevils (DD) as principal sponsor. Japanese firm Daikin will continue to sponsor the DD team for the next three years.

Announcing the tie-up, Cargill India MD Deoki Muchhal said: “NatureFresh as a brand represents active living, and this association with a sporting event is a natural extension of the brand ethos.” The logo of the brand will be sported on the back of the DD team jersey beginning this season.

The brand association will be for all three sub-brands under its portfolio — NatureFresh Acti Lite Refined Oils, Sampoorna Chakki Atta and Professional, he added.

DD Chief Executive Hemant Dua said: “The brand with its loyal consumer base will work as the perfect addition to our squad, allowing us to expand our reach to a wider audience.”
