Technopark-Technology Business Incubator has become the first incubator in the country to roll out cloud computing technology for startups.

HP Enterprise Service will provide cloud services exclusively to the incubated companies at special, discounted rates through the Thiruvananthapuram-based Techpool Consultancy Services.

Major enabler KC Chandrasekharan Nair, Managing Director of the Technopark Incubator, signed an MoU with Regi Mathai, Managing Director, Techpool, here on Thursday.

HP Enterprises Services Director Susanta Bhattacharya handed over the HP operation letter to Hrishikesh Nair, CEO of the Incubator.

This will be a major enabler for startups looking to achieve global competitiveness, according to an official spokesman.

It would mark a new chapter in that it would satisfy the growing computing infrastructure and data requirements of startups and accelerate technical innovations, Hrishikesh Nair said.

After signing of the MoU, the Incubator along with Techpool and Technopark, hosted a seminar to give startups more information about cloud computing and the services on offer.

Technological leap Sudhir Rao, CTO, HP Enterprise Service, pointed out with the cloud in place, information could be processed and generated from anywhere.

“HP helps clients make the technological leap from the old. Our strategy is to provide solutions for the new IT,” he said.

As data needs and IT-related complaints soar, a new approach is needed for speed and security which cloud service aimed to facilitate. Cloud is a highly scalable and elastic technology.

Cloud solutions deliver on demand capacity for building and testing applications, flexing to meet peak demands of enterprise applications, and enabling rapid deployment of new applications and services.

Cloud solution services offers flexibility and agility to unleash innovation a business needs for growth.

The seminar also focused on virtual private cloud, multiple OS options, client portal and control through service catalogue, physical and virtual compute resources and consumption billing.

Chief Cloud Officer GS Moorthy and Technopark CEO KG Girish Babu also spoke at the event.
