SpiceJet is offering a 30 per cent discount to travellers who book their tickets at least 30 days in advance. These fares are valid for travel till April 15. The discounted offer is being made for flights operated by the airline between Monday and Thursday.
The other domestic airlines have not joined SpiceJet in matching or offering lower fares, something which happened last week, when SpiceJet launched a three-day sale offering a 50 per cent discount on bookings made at least 30 days before travel.
At that time, within a short while after the SpiceJet offer became public, IndiGo and GoAir had joined the price war. Soon after, Air India and JetKonnect, the low-cost arm of Jet Airways, also announced offers similar to those offered by SpiceJet.
In the latest offer by SpiceJet, a passenger has to make a booking by midnight February 2.
SpiceJet's Chief Operating Officer, Sanjiv Kapoor, said the new offer was in “response to a deluge of requests from those who had missed it the first time to repeat the offer.”
