“Titanic” star Leonardo DiCaprio, who is a committed environmentalist, has sealed his green credentials by becoming an equity investor in an electric car company.
The 37-year-old actor became the first recipient of 2012 Fisker Karma, an environmentally-friendly vehicle and now will be partnering with the bosses at the luxury hybrid brand.
The brand in turn will support his Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation Charity, reported Daily Star.
“My foundation supports efforts to secure a sustainable future for our planet and all its inhabitants. I am delighted to be working with Fisker Automotive to promote this shared vision,” a statement from DiCaprio read.
DiCaprio founded his non-profit organisation in 1998 to work on a variety of environmental issues, including wildlife protection and forest preservation.
