Indian Motorcycle has launched its new “ultra-premium” bagger, the 2018 Chieftain Elite. With only 350 produced worldwide, this limited edition custom-inspired masterpiece is loaded with premium features, a press release said.

The focal point of this bagger is the specialty paint featuring high-flake Black Hills Silver. As the name suggests, this paint was inspired by the silver mines in the Black Hills of South Dakota, US, which is near Indian Motorcycle’s custom paint facility. A team of Indian Motorcycle experts mask the bodywork, lay the graphics, and hand-spray each Chieftain Elite. Each bike takes nearly 25 hours due to the time-intensive, painstaking processes that are completed by hand. No two bikes will look the same due to the level of human touch involved, the company claimed.

The Indian Chieftain Elite is priced at ₹38 lakh (ex-Showroom). The seven-inch Indian Motorcycle Ride Command System is standard and has technology features like Bluetooth audio, navigation, vehicle information and status and split-screen technology to customise the display to focus on the details essential for riders.

Other features of the Indian Chieftain Elite include Pathfinder LED lights, push-button power windshield, remote-locking hard saddle bags, 19” front wheel with an open fender, inspired by the Indian fenders of the 1920s and 1930s, showcasing a 10-spoke, contrast-cut wheel that completes the custom look. At the soul of this bike is the Thunderstroke 111 engine, an award-winning American V-Twin that delivers 151 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm and power to spare in every gear.
