For this World TB Day on March 24, the World Health Organisation’s theme is `Unite to End TB: Leave no one behind’.
This is the second year of this two-year campaign and the WHO’s efforts this time will include actions to address stigma, discrimination, marginalisation and overcoming barriers to access care.
The Sustainable Development agenda embraces the principle of ensuring no one is left behind in an effort to transform the world and improve people’s lives for the better.
These are essential to reach the target of ending TB by 2030. Last year, WHO reported that 10.4 million people contracted TB and 1.8 million dies in 2015, making it the top infectious killer worldwide.
