The turmeric markets in this town, one of the biggest in India, will remain closed for nine days from March 28 for the local Periya Mariamman and Chinna Mariamman festivals.
R K V Ravishankar, President, Erode Turmeric Merchants Association’, said the markets would remain closed from March 28 to April 5 and would assemble the following day (April 6).
