Robotix Learning Solutions Pvt Ltd, which teaches children fundamental STEM concepts in a hands-on manner, has signed an MoU with Graz University of Technology, Austria, to develop ‘pocket code’ technology, which is an open source App-based software to control robotic products.
The Chennai-based company intends to develop educational robots and the Austrian university development team will work closely with Robotix to transfer this technology. AS Ramana Prasad, Chairman, Robotix, and Prof W Slany of Graz signed the agreement here on Thursday.
At a press conference, Robotix Learning, along with Meritus Smart Learning, also announced a ten-event Indian Robotix League and Mynd Works Brain Gym quiz event to be held here from December 25 to 28. Over 1,200 students from various schools and colleges are expected. The league will see students battling it out in a racing competition of electric-powered 1:8 scale Smart FX racing cars, as well as 1:6 scale humanoids playing football, among other events. The Mynd Works Brain Gym quiz will target students from grade 4 to 7 and is aimed at helping children develop their logical and analytical thinking, problem solving skills and creativity. The quiz will have preliminary rounds and will culminate in a grand finale that will be held at the IIT Madras campus whereas the robotix league finals will be held at the campus of Bharath University.
