Mafoi Strategic Consultants plans to set up ‘vendor clinics’ across industrial hubs to offer training and consulting to auto parts suppliers.
The clinics will bring in a structure to the way vendors operate and ensure they adhere to quality standards in manufacturing, said V. Sundar, CEO, Mafoi Connecting Dots, the division targeted at auto part makers and other manufacturing units. Apart from conducting periodic audits of manufacturing processes, the clinics will also train people in skill development, organisational practices and quality systems.
The first few clinics will come up by December in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and the North.
The target is to set up 48 centres across the country in places such as Sanand, Pantnagar, Kohlapur, Hosur and Mysore. Offices have already been set up in Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi and Coimbatore.
Meanwhile, Connecting Dots has unveiled a virtual vendor management solution, targeted at OEMs and tier one auto component makers, to keep track of their smaller vendors.
The software rates the performance of vendors and their delivery schedules.
